Dark Shadows Movie Confirmed for 2010

It's been a long time coming, but SciFiWire reports that Dark Shadows has been confirmed as Tim Burton's next film. The big budget feature film will begin shooting in late 2010, starring Johnny Depp as Barnabas Collins.

The project had previously been delayed by director Tim Burton's ongoing commitments on his current project, Alice in Wonderland. Dark Shadows producer Graham King, updated the production's status at a recent press conference for The Young Victoria, revealing that pre-production is underway:

"We've been working on the script a lot... John August wrote the first screenplay. We're making some changes, but the film's going to be in production [by] September or October of next year."

My Heart is overwhelmed with "joy" and I'm so thrilled in knowing that one of the greatest & chilliest haunting/origional Classic 1960's TV show DARK SHADOWS: that lead the way for so "many" Supernatural/Sci-fi & Horror Movies & Tv shows will finally have it's limelight revisited again, on the big screen. I can't wait...' to see what the Creative genius talents of Producer Grahman King, Director/Producer Tim Burton and Actor Johnny Depp and the new haunting Cast of DARK SHADOWS will bring to the big screen. Just don't forget to follow Mr. Dan CURTIS Creator/Writer (& his DS Crew-Writers) of DARK SHADOWS "strong & frighenting" potent storylines: The COLLINS Family and the whole DS Family stories need to be unveiled! The COLLINS Mansion I do believe breaths Life on it's own: daring anyone to enter those doors. A real spine tingler/scary! Can't wait..'for it's release in 2011. Thank you!

I'm really excited to see this. A whole new DS generation is going to be born.

I can't wait to see what story-lines from the original show were chosen for the movie.

Also, I heard the movie will be a trilogy (ie Lord of the Rings)
