News in Brief

  • Dick Smith, the legendary make-up artist who aged Jonathan Frid for Dark Shadows, is to be honoured by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. Dick will receive a Governors Award, an honorary Oscar, this November for his contribution to the industry.
  • David Selby (Quentin Collins) is to narrate a new production of Into the Woods for the Morganstown Theatre Company. The play runs on August 26 and 27 at Morganstown, West Virginia's Metropolitan Theatre. For more information, click here.
  • Glee creator Ryan Murphy has revealed a childhood fascination with Dark Shadows. Promoting his new FX series American Horror Story, he said: "My grandmother would force me, even when I was sobbing and screaming, to watch Dark Shadows... and when I was bad, I had to watch The Waltons."
